Nostalgia
“Where am I? I feel like I am nowhere”
From Federico Fellini’s “Amarcord”
Nostalgia is the acute desire of returning to live in a place that was the usual home and which is now far away
These images are the search for “countries” from memory through a dreamlike and metaphysically plastic representation of the world and its volumes: dreamlike because imagined and sought, beyond the mind’s reality; plastic because anchored to the shapes and volumes of metaphysical houses and lands, out of time but familiar.
This is a world that is shaped by memory over the years, idealised over time by what we feel and who we are. For this reason these new created “countries” are not real but they are so intimate.
It’s my own intimate representation of “Home”
